Many schools require their students to bring their own laptops to school, which are often used in lessons.
While being able to limit a childs screen time is important, it is not desired when the device is used in school.
In the Child-Profile settings, you are able to set school hours. During the time period you set (Monday to Friday), your childs school device will be exempt from the screen time settings. On weekends and outside of school hours, the school device will be treated the same as all other devices.
The screen time of a school device when used during school hours is not counted towards the daily cumulative screen time, only outside of school hours. If a child however uses a non-school device during school hours, such as their phone, then the screen time of the phone will count towards their daily cumulative screen time allowance.
The school device settings dont affect the main switch settings. This means if social media is not being blocked for a child, then it also wont be blocked for a school device during school hours.
